Speculative Fiction
Af redaktør mikkel jensen , marianne kongerslev , sørine amanda nielsen
As an academic discipline, speculative fiction is only just starting to emerge out of the “literary ghetto.” This concise anthology contributes to this still-emerging and exciting field by showcasing a wide range of scholarly snapshots and deep dives, from classic sci-fi movies such as The Omega Man (1971), to highly topical new releases such as Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022). In addition to spanning an extensive time period, the bilingual contributions of the anthology also span several genres and national contexts. Some contributions focus on popular US film and literary fiction while others center on contemporary Danish and German science fiction novels, corona-literature, and arts-based research. This capacious scope of the anthology allows the contributions to illustrate on the multifarious nature of speculative fiction. This anthology is for both university students and researchers in the field, but may also be of interest to the general reader who wants to experience the diversity of speculative imagination.
